Paris is beautiful and the people are fantastic. Needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Unlike London that was bombed heavily in the war, Paris has retained much of it's historic charm. Everywhere you go the architecture is stunning. Even newer buildings like the Pompidou Center are cool in exactly the opposite way.

Navigating Paris is a doddle too. The metro is so convenient and it's not even particularly crowded, relatively speaking of course. We were able to get everywhere we wanted to go from our hotel near the Gare du Nord quick, easy and inexpensive.
