Our trip concluded with three nights in Spain's most cosmopolitan city, Madrid. While there we spent our time absorbing the cities many sites; we did some shopping; we paid a visit to the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and saw Picasso's Guernica; we squeezed in as many cafe con leche as possible, and we <drum roll> went to another footie match!

Though the home side only managed a draw against AS Roma (1-1) it was an amazing experience to see such world-class players as Zinedane Zidane, Roberto Carlos and Luis Figo.

The game was our last full on experience in Spain and, in my mind, that was a fitting conclusion to our trip. As Pele referred to soccer as 'the beautiful game,' we now have fond memories of Spain as a beautiful country.

Thank you for reading about our trip... I hope you've enjoyed the stories and photos!
