Winter was starting to drag on a bit so Beth and I hopped in a jet plane and flew off to Kaua'i with Brice and Kris for a little early-March sun. We had a fantastic time exploring all the island has to offer, including (first and foremost) shave ice, sunning ourselves at the beach, snorkeling, hiking, playing golf, Bud Light, ahi, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, and so on...

We stayed at the Sea Lodge in Princeville on the north shore (thank you Harvey & Arlene!). The north shore is a bit wetter during the winter however it is by far the prettiest spot on the island. The Na Pali coast, Limahuli Botanical Garden, Kilauea Lighthouse, and Hanalei Bay are all fodder for postcard photos.

We saw humpback whales spouting in the ocean from our window; we saw monk seals snoozing on the beach; we saw a sea turtle swimming against rough seas at the Queen's Bath. It's difficult to describe with words alone the beauty of Kaua'i... so check out these snaps instead.
